Suzuki Therapeutics

Trauma-informed, whole-person integrative health

Rooted in East Asian medicine, somatic approaches, and functional medicine principles, with attention to how physical and emotional patterns connect. Treatment is tailored to each person’s needs and individual physiology.

My work is guided by a small number of core principles that shape how assessment and care are approached over time.

  • Nervous system regulation and stability

  • Whole-person assessment over time

  • Physiology and metabolic support

  • Collaborative, paced care

Treatment is adjusted based on how these areas interact, rather than by matching one technique to one symptom.

My work centers on trauma‑informed, whole‑person care that supports nervous system regulation in people living with cumulative stress. Sessions may include body‑based and somatic practices, East Asian medicine such as acupuncture and herbal formulations, and functional medicine tools such as lifestyle review, nutrition, and lab‑informed assessment, depending on what is most supportive in the moment.

This approach is commonly helpful for concerns such as chronic stress and trauma patterns, challenges with emotional regulation, sleep disruption, hormonal shifts, pain, and digestive issues, which are approached as interconnected rather than separate problems.

How I work

Trauma‑informed integrative care

Sanae Suzuki
DAOM, PRCFMP, FMCP-c, L.Ac, Dipl.OM

I practice integrative medicine with over a decade of clinical experience and hold a doctorate in East Asian medicine (DAOM), with additional training in functional medicine and somatic approaches. My work brings together classical medical traditions and contemporary understanding of the nervous system to support long-term change.

I lived with alopecia from the age of 13 for more than thirty years, and real healing began when I started looking beyond symptoms and addressing the patterns shaping my health. That experience taught me that meaningful change takes time, and that health is closely tied to daily life, nervous system regulation, and the degree of agency a person has in their own care, within the realities of social determinants of health.

My focus includes concerns commonly seen in people living with cumulative stress, including chronic stress and trauma patterns, challenges with emotional regulation, sleep disruption, hormonal shifts, pain, and digestive issues. I aim to meet each person where they are, with clarity and respect for how interconnected health can be.

As a non-prescriber, I work in collaboration with your prescriber and other allied healthcare providers when needed.
